Job Description

Rail Project Engineer - Signalling. Design & Renewals Contract Rate - £300.00 / £330.00 per day limited. Location - Essex / London. Duration - 6 Months.

Signalling Project Engineer is required to implement efficient delivery of signalling and electrification renewal and enhancement projects. Through improved specification, utilisation of resources, control and management of projects. The focus is to renew and enhance the rail infrastructure to deliver commitments through increased efficiency and value for money.

Required Experience, Qualifications & Skills for this position. Relevant experience in rail signal engineering. Signalling design experience. Qualified to HNC / HND or equivalent GNVQ level. Quality assurance experience. Working knowledge of CDM (Construction Design Management). Decision making skills. Communication skills, able to effective communicate with people at all levels. Able to work effectively within a team environment.

Responsibilities Management of engineering activities, to achieve cost effective results that meet programme, safety and environmental requirements. Monitor specific projects, to ensure engineering is to standards and specification. Monitor signalling design, together with specialist consultants and contractors. Provide project management advice in respect of all construction activities, including testing and commissioning and site supervision. Management of the projects to ensure that all requirements of current legislation and construction design management regulations are met. Stakeholder liaison as required by the project. Audits contractors to effectively monitor safety, environment, design quality, construction and testing.
