Job Description

Company:

My client are a professional consultancy with a background which dates back to 1989. They specialist in Quantity Surveying, Construction Law, M&E and also 3D cost modelling and estimating.

Role:

A enthusiastic Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor with excellent NEC contract experience, a dynamic approach and `can-do' attitude is required to work on a contract to last initially till September 2011. This role has potential to convert into a permanent career opportunity.

Requirements:

• M&E Quantity Surveying background / Building Services Specialist

• NEC Contract experience is ESSENTIAL

• Airport/aviation experience would be a distinct advantage

• Excellent QS skills, preferable coming from a consultancy / specialist M&E contractor background

• Based in London / South East

• Degree / MRICS / level or similar

• Must be available to start immediately

• Good Communication Skills

• Good range of experience of building projects and M&E packages generally

General QS Skills Needed:

Pre Contract:

Preliminary costs indications of proposed scheme and comparative costs of alternative schemes Procurement strategy and the method of tendering Advice on the most appropriate form of contract Preparation of contract documents and appropriate specifications Tender reviews and audits Bills of quantities production Negotiate acceptable terms Cost Plans Risk Analysis

Post Contract:

Procurement Interim payments and certify payments Calculate and agree the valuation of variations Value works to be paid for on a measured basis Advise on the anticipated final cost position during the course of the works Cash flow forecasts Agree and certify the final account
