Job Description

With offices situated on the river in Battersea, Wii Select is a new and rapidly expanding company which specialise in the staffing of major, high profile events in London and the South East including many contracts for a large sporting event in Stratford during Summer 2012(!)

Role

  • To impart event service standards and skills to potential members of staff through comprehensive training/interview sessions held on site 2-3 times a day, twice a week. Following stringent company training procedures

  • Processing staff applications and approving/disapproving employment based on an informed decision following training/interview sessions
  • Working closely with the events team, assisting with the staffing of events when required
  • Processing initial, online applications by telephone interview
  • Adhering to current employment law including age and nationality restrictions as highlighted by the Department of Work and Pensions and HM Home Office
  • Signing in staff at events if and when required
  • Assisting with outstanding administrative tasks if requested
  • Acting as the company’s ambassador

Skills Required:

  • Educated to degree level, or higher

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Events, Catering, Hospitality at a senior or supervisory level
  • Must have an exemplary knowledge of different styles of event service and set up
  • Outgoing personality
  • Must have the ability to engage a large group of trainees
  • A basic understanding of the fundamentals of current employment law
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, problem solving and organisational skills
  • Good attention to detail is required at all times
  • Proven numeracy and literacy skills are required
  • Exemplary organisational skills
  • Excellent telephone and IT skills are essential
  • A good team ethic
  • The ability to remain calm and productive in a pressured environment is an absolute must!
  • Ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload

  • Must be willing to work beyond contracted hours on occasions as required by the role including evenings and weekends.
